Festival Teluk Jailolo 2012: Sea Adventure

Cabaret On The Sea
This is a performance of a contemporary art that become the icon of Festival Teluk Jailolo every year.
 
The performance is formed with a cabaret format that has a stage is built on the sea. Can you imagine?
 
Cabaret performance on the sea is a performance concept that never existed in Indonesia and even in the world.
 
Full involvement of local communities in Festival Teluk Jailolo is proved with this performance of cabaret on the sea. The performance is supported by native communities surrounding West Halmahera that  consists  farmers, fishermen, students, and housewives.
 
For that,this Jailolo community will be trained how to performance the art with the elements of characterization, build artistic stage, music, costumes and how to package a show that professional and attractive that can attract the tourists from our own country and abroad.
 
This training activity can be a stimulus for the creativity of the people of  West Halmahera in the future so that they can do a creative things for the development of themself, family, neighborhood, region and nation Indonesia at large.
 
This type of training is something that is  a challenge and different because so far they are often given training in agriculture, plantation, and fishery. Arts training is carried now give another colour for the people of West Halmahera which incidentally has a strong artistic soul.
 
For two months they will follow the above training and at the peak of Festival Teluk Jailolo 2012, the results of their work in training will be performed in the Cabaret on the sea.
 
The elements of West Halmahera tradition also will be a part of the performance of Cabaret on the sea, such as yanger music, the bamboo musical instruments tataruba, menuru and traditional dances such as West Halmahera Legu Salai, Sara dabi-dabi.
 
You will be amazed watching the performance of packaging is made with a colossal and spectacular! Colourful costumes of the players, and an interesting story will be spoiled your eyes during the performance.
 
Arts and cultural activities are made for the tourist who had been visited to Jailolo from the people of West Halmahera.
 
Teluk  Jailolo
Biological wealth puts Teluk Jailolo  as a part of the Coral Triangle territory center (TC). The point? That means Teluk  Jailolo is a part of the triangle area of the tropical waters of six million square kilometers in six countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippine, Solomon Islands, and Timor Leste) with at least 500 species of coral reef wall. Mandarin Dragonet, nudybranch, and wreck is a piece of underwater collections here.
 
Submarine canyons (drop off) adorned with a natural underwater dive point around which so far only 10 are identified. Who knows, you can find the next dive spots. If you enter from the island Buabua, then one of the sights that can be enjoyed is the wall or walls of coral reefs that grow around the bottom of the island. Can you imagine? Then prepared at a depth of only a few dozen meters away you will be greeted various types of underwater's life including various types of reefs.
 
Teluk Loloda
Loloda is one of the districts in West Halmahera. To reach this region need a speedboat with a distance of about three hours. If you want more varied, after two hours by speedboat, the journey can continue by using ketinting (five-meter wooden boat with a capacity of maximum 5 people).
 
Sights along the Gulf toward Loloda as one of the dreams of the divers is guaranteed  not be boring. One of the interesting spot is the Waterfall Kahatola. This is one of the masterpiece of  God on West Halmahera. Why not? Waterfall is located on the coastal beach in which the water come into the sea directly. The source of this waterfall is not  from the river. But from the collection of rainwater seepage and groundwater. Not surprisingly, the collections of a freshwater waterfall which falls into the sea so salty habitats emerged the unique habitats. Take for example the Large parrot fish (Bumpedhead Parrotfish) which can be as long a meter.
 
In Teluk Loloda, in one spot the north at a depth of 16-17 meters, you can see one large coral colonies of Pavona Clavus family. A number of coral experts from some countries after diving indicate that the age of these corals are believed had reached at least nine centuries! While the number of species that live here are more than 250 species. How Amazing are they!!!!!!!
