(Bali, Indonesia, 14 - 19 November 2011)

MEDIA ADVISORY

 

1. Introduction

The 19th ASEAN Summit and related summits will be held at the ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) Bali, Indonesia from 14 to 19 November 2011. Meanwhile, side events will be held at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Bali, Indonesia from 16 to 19 November 2011.

2. Accreditation/Registration

A. Key Dates for Media Accreditation
15 September 2011 : Media registration online opens
29 October 2011 : Media registration online closed
 
12-16 November 2011 : Issuance of ID pass

B. All media representatives who are interested in covering the events must register using the prescribed Media Registration Form available at http://asean2011.kemlu.go.id.

C. How to register :

1). Complete the Media Registration Form and attach soft copies of the following documents:

    • Letter of assignment from the editor/executive of the media;
    • A form of identification - KTP for locals or passport for non Indonesian citizens - that is valid for at least six months;
    • A recent digital passport-sized photograph.

2). Should the online registration be not accessible, other mean of registration is available by sending the completed form along with soft copies of the required documents to asean2011-media@kemlu.go.id.

Please note that incomplete and late registrations will not be processed.
For successful media accreditation, an e-mail notification will be sent to confirm your accreditation together with a unique ID number. Successful applicants are required to print and bring along a copy of the confirmation letter with the unique ID number to the Registration Desk, Melia Hotel Bali, for issuance of ID pass.

3. Visa Requirement

Applicants who are not based in Jakarta are required to apply for a journalist visa at the nearest Indonesian Embassy/Representative Office. Please bring along a copy of the confirmation letter with the unique ID number when applying for the visa.

4. Customs Clearance Requirement

The list of equipments that will be brought by applicants must be legalized by the nearest Indonesian Embassy/Representative office for importation and exportation purpose.

5. Issuance of Accreditation Pass (ID)

ID pass will be issued at the Registration Desk, Melia Hotel Bali, Indonesia on 12 - 16 November 2011 at 09.00 - 17.00 local time. ID must be worn at all times in a visible spot and will be required for entry into venues that are accessible to the Media.

6. Media Center

Media Center will be located at Singaraja Hall, BNDCC, Bali starting from 15 November to 19 November 2011.

Hours of operation:
15 - 19 November 2011 : 06.00 - 24.00
 
Computers with internet access and WIFI will be available at the center. First come first serve is applied for all media personnel who wish to use these facilities.
 
Refreshments and lunch will be also available for media representatives.

7. Media Pool

Media representatives will be given access to enter the venues of all open session events. However, in the event that space availability does not permit, a media pool will be applied. Others may observe or follow the events at the media center where CCTV is provided.

8. Accommodation and Travel Arrangements

Media representatives will be responsible for their own travel arrangements, reservation and payments of hotel/accommodation.

9. Tentative Program and Other Information for Media

Tentative program for media and other information about the events will be released in due course at http://asean2011.kemlu.go.id.
